I am a very busy Northville mother who was so happy to discover World Custom Alterations. I am so pleased with the quality work that Polina produces. I have used her for many different services such as: reupholstering my chairs, hemming slacks, patching up holes in my kid's jeans, sewing Boy Scout patches for my son, putting the final touches on my daughter's dance costume, on and on. She has become very important to my family because she performs such a valuable service for us.
I had a bridesmaid dress and three pairs of pants altered. The dress had to have the straps shortened, the waist taken in, and the hem shortened. All three pairs of pants had to be shortened and taken in at the thighs. The seamstress gave me a 2 week estimate, but called a week later and said she finished all of my clothes early! During the whole fitting process, the woman who works there was extremely friendly and helpful. It was very clear that the woman knew what she was doing, Thank goodness, because I had no idea what to do to make that stupid bridesmaid dress fit right.
Naturally, everything was altered perfectly, just how I'd hoped, and for a very reasonable price. It's amazing the difference a good tailor can make!
One word: AWESOME. Professionals at *original* hems. I'm short. Everything gets hemmed. Period. HIgh-quality work.
So I had to have a pair of denim altered, for anyone who knows denim, it was a pair of Sugarcane Union Stars. I found this place on Yelp but I don't know why I chose it. I wanted to take a couple inches off the bottom, and also to have the denim tapered. She said it would cost around like $28, She looked at me and said how about $20? I couldn't resist. I paid 20$, even better because there was no tax :). I want to give this place 4 and a half stars because the bottom of the denim could have been a little more tapered, but overall, they did a great job. It now fits me perfectly
While I don't see myself as oddly-sized, it seems I've had to get every new item of clothing altered in the past two months. She has now altered 8 pairs of pants, a shirt, and a suit. I wouldn't go anywhere else now.
